This comprehensive course has been developed to address the applicable Provincial Safety Regulations, CSA B167-08 and ASME B30 series. This training is for operators and supervisors of overhead lifting equipment. This is a two-part program consisting of a comprehensive in-class training and testing session followed by a customized hands-on instruction and evaluation session. The program covers a broad spectrum of overhead crane operation and rigging, focusing on those particular to your operation. Participants will learn how to safely and effectively operate your specific overhead crane(s), attachments and related components. This program is suitable for new and existing operators.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this training is to rid the operators of bad habits and dangerous practices while operating an overhead crane. Properly trained operators will reduce unnecessary damage and repair to the equipment, decrease material and product damage and lessen the chance of an incident or injury. This course is applicable to all capacities and types of overhead lifting devices.
Duration and Location:
The course is an 8-hour in-class session and a customized hands-on session on site at your location. The participants are required to successfully complete a written test, and are evaluated on their practical knowledge, ensuring they fully understand the training they received. They must achieve a minimum of 80% on both sessions for successful completion. We can tailor a training course for any number of participants.

Customized Practical Training and Evaluation:
The practical operator training and evaluation held on-site at your facility is scheduled following the in-class session. The instructor will work with 2 operators at a time for approximately 1 to 2 hours. They will concentrate on planning the lift, proper rigging practices and safe operation. The duration of the hands-on session varies based on the equipment type(s) and the aptitude of the participant. The hands-on session should be pre-scheduled.
